PRESS RELEASE
Rwanda’s Minister of Education to open the FEWA AI Summit at MWC Kigali 2025
Kigali, Rwanda – 21st October 2025
The Ministry of Education (MINEDUC) announces the FEWA AI Summit, a landmark high-level forum taking place on Thursday, 23 October 2025, co-located with MWC Kigali 2025 at the Kigali Convention Centre. The Summit is organized in exclusive partnership with GSMA and delivered in collaboration with The Future of Education & Work in Africa (FEWA) and partners.
Under the theme “Driving AI Innovation in Education & Workforce Development,” the forum will convene government officials, CEOs, innovators, Vice Chancellors, and development leaders from across Africa to explore how artificial intelligence can transform learning systems, bridge skills gaps, and prepare Africa’s workforce for the digital future.
“Africa’s greatest asset is its young people; our responsibility is to equip them with future-ready skills. By having policymakers, educators, industry and youth all in the same room, we should shape practical AI solutions that raise learning outcomes, protect equity and ethics, and build a workforce ready for today and tomorrow’s jobs,” said Hon. Joseph Nsengimana, Minister of Education in Rwanda.
“This Summit is more than a conference. It is a continental dialogue on how Africa can harness the power of AI to redefine learning, empower its youth, and drive inclusive growth,” said Titus Ngatia, Founder and CEO of FEWA.
Aligned with the Government of Rwanda’s vision for digital transformation and
education excellence, the forum will feature focused sessions on:
- AI in Education and Future Skills Development
- Ethical Governance and Policy Readiness for AI
- Innovation Case Studies from African Institutions and Industry
- Spotlight Dialogues with Vice Chancellors, CEOs, and Policymakers
Insights and outcomes from the Kigali Summit will directly inform preparations for the Global FEWA AI Conference 2026, to be announced following the Summit.
